Noordpool Orkest, established in 2009 and based in Groningen, Netherlands, is a 42
member ensemble known for its diverse music repertoire beyond classical music. It includes a Bigband and strings covering genres like jazz, world music, hip-hop, drum’n bass, pop and new genres.
The orchestra released several albums which also are successful on streaming services. The free-lance musicians of this young orchestra worked with artists like Jose James, Miguel Zenon, Nai Barghouti, Dave Douglas, Fay Claassen, Jett Rebel, Benjamin Herman, Waylon, Thys de Vlieger, Janne Schra, Nynke Laverman, Xavi Torres, Reinier Baas, Oene van Geel, Tineke Postma, Ben van Gelder, Thomas Azier, Anna Serierse, Douwe Bob, Zara Mc Farlane, Izaline Calister, Ellen ten Damme, Bert Visscher. Besides their touring in concert halls they played at festivals like Pinkpop, North Sea Jazz, Grasnapolsky, Jazz Te Gast, Noorderzon. They’re also experienced in film concerts with Cinema in Concert.
